# Grahvani API

> Vedic astrological computation as a metered HTTP API — charts, daśās, pañcāṅga, Krishnamurti Paddhati and compatibility, computed from Swiss Ephemeris and classical rule sets. Every response carries the classical basis it was computed from.

## What makes it different

- **Provenance on every response.** Where a rule comes from a text, the response names the text and the locus. Where published sources genuinely disagree, the response says so in `provenance.disputed` instead of presenting a contested number as settled.
- **Units, not calls.** Compute cost varies about twentyfold across the API, so billing is denominated in units and `meta.units` is on every response.
- **Verifiable claims.** KP horary reproduces Krishnamurti's published values exactly (number 37 → Taurus 22°40′, number 206 → Capricorn 26°6′40″). Vimśottarī matches Drik Pañcāṅga's 120-year cycle to within 26 seconds.
